Live bright

Helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live their best, brightest, and most meaningful lives.

Making life brighter for people with disabilities

People with disabilities are often challenged with the perception that they are "incapable" and are often excluded.

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to live the life they choose.  At CSI, we help people challenge "can't do" perceptions with "what can we do" attitude and action.

Answers to your questions

Who do you serve?

CSI (Brightsky) serves adults (18 years or older) who experience a developmental and/or intellectual disability. We serve people with a wide range of support needs—young, elderly, medical conditions, challenging behaviors…

How can I get services / how soon can I move in?

You must meet the eligibility requirements for the State of Oregon to receive services and supports at CSI (Brightsky). Your local Community Developmental Disabilities Program (CDDP) determines eligibility. A worker in your county will help with the papers you need and the eligibility process.

Contact your local CDDP office to find out if you are eligible for services.

If you already have a County Services Coordinator, or Brokerage Personal Agent, you likely meet the eligibility requirements. If you are interested in our service, ask your Services Coordinator or Personal Agent to send a referral packet to us at: referrals@cs-inc.org

You can also call us at (503)648-6415 ext. 313—we’d love to talk with you!

Can I visit

Absolutely! Give us a call and we’ll arrange a time that works. (503)648-6415 ext. 313

How do I pay for services?

Services are paid by the State (Oregon Developmental Disabilities Services or ODDS), through a Medicaid Waiver.

Rent, food and utilities are paid by a person using their Social Security benefits., ODDS sets the monthly room and board rate for 24-hour services.

Most Health related expenses (doctor visits, medications, medical equipment) are paid by your health insurance. A lot of people we support use the Oregon Health Plan.

How will my medical needs and medications be supported?

We can help you with scheduling and attending medical appointments.

We will provide transportation to and accompany you to all appointments. The staff will help make sure all the required documentation is completed by the medical professionals and kept for your records at the home.

The level of help you need with medication administration will be determined through an assessment. Staff are trained to assist with the safe administration of medications.

Can I have visitors?

Yes! It will be your home. We encourage you to have friends and family over.

I have medical issues that need monitoring. Can I still receive services?

We can support people with most medical needs. We have Registered Nurses on staff who can train, delegate and monitor nursing tasks that the staff perform (for example, insulin administration, feeding tubes, ostomy care). Right now, we cannot support people who need long-term direct nursing care (tracheotomy care, suctioning).

I use a wheelchair and need a lot of support with my physical needs. Can you support me?

CSI (Brightsky) trains staff to support your physical needs. We also have fully accessible homes and transportation. We utilize adaptive equipment and make environmental modifications to meet your needs.

Can I bring my pet?

Small pets are allowed if other people living in the home are not allergic or afraid of the pet. You need to be able to care for your pet financially (food, veterinary bills, keep vaccinations current). You also need to be able to care for your pet with minimal help from the staff. You will also be responsible for any damage the pet may cause.
